Mrs. Garcia graduated from Lamar University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. After graduation, she worked at Amoco Chemical Company in League City, Texas, where she met her husband, David. They have four adult children — Kaily, David, Jason, and Jonathan. Although Mrs. Garcia loves mathematics, she has developed a special love for literature and writing. For about 14 years, the Garcias were members of Grace Homeschool Co-op, where Mrs. Garcia taught literature and composition to middle school and high school students. As a hobby, Mrs. Garcia has published several educational resources, including The Magic Chalk series that teaches the parts of speech through fun classroom adventures. Mr. and Mrs. Garcia and their college-aged sons attend church at Reformed Presbyterian Church.
