Rebekah Clark - Lower School Art

Rebekah Hair Clark received her Bachelor Degree from Louisiana Christian University, studying Studio art and English. For her senior project, she created two picture books, one of which being her first published work, “Tobey the Collector.” Since then she has published two other books and illustrated for four more through various ministries. Her last book, “Take that, Hurricane!” has been featured at various library events, conferences, and panels. Since graduation, Rebekah has taught art to students of various ages, both privately, for groups, and through Private schools. She also teaches specialized art courses, focusing on Picture Books and Illustration, online through Excelsior Classes. Her teaching style is conversational and collaborative, making her popular in both classroom and one-on-one settings.

Rebekah has taught art to several different groups, from young children to high schoolers to adults. She focuses on building up a student’s skills, teaching them the skills needed to properly express the things they see and imagine. Her favorite medium is India Ink, specifically ink paintings made with bamboo brushes.

A former Beaumont native and homeschool graduate, Rebekah values a balanced view of education, integrating history, theology, and skill into art education. Whether it’s a picture book, a novel or a lecture, she sees each medium as an opportunity to teach, encourage, and inspire. When she’s not teaching, she’s working on her many book projects, brainstorming new worlds and characters. Outside of work, she cleans out her new yard, happy to be back in SETX, dreaming up new book concepts and planning for chickens.
